My 3 year old is already literate with the software and is very proud of her creations. My 15 year old still loves it too.
I really do not have a lot of pros to add because it has been nothing but frustration, to needing to set user names that don't always work to having to insert the game disc every time you play (which is a pain if you have multiple computers and children who are prone to lose, break things, play frisbee.). This is just not for Mac users. It *works*, but it continually crashes under both Tiger and Leopard, Intel and PPC. It is a good cheap time occupier if it works - and would be good for hand/eye coordination, plus fueling creative juices. However unless you want to work on frustration behaviors, skip this if you have a Mac.
My 8 year old grandson was using this at school and wanted one for home. It is great for letting kids have fun and be creative at the same time.
SO she found the disk and installed on her computer. But Best Buy only had Deluxe 4. Then we installed and he loved it. But then his cousin got a new computer and she really wanted it on her computer. I would like to know so i can check the tracking. But then he noticed it was all scratched up. So then she installed and it worked fine with her. then the first thing he does is try to install it.
And when it gets to installing the Demo things. and it doesn't work either. And I selected Standard shipping for the shipping thing. But his cousin is about 4 years younger than him, and she asked if she can borrow it.
Then his cousin LOST it. And he said it was fine because, you don't need the disk to play it. But they used Deluxe 3. (And this is on the iMac) But we have Boot Camp on our mac, so he tries it on the windows side. But I went to best buy to buy that game for my son. It stops for a minute and says Access is denied. But my son forgot to take it back home.
But then my son calls her and asks her if she knew where it was. SO he gets out scratch taker off thingy. When my kid was in 1st grade, he loved kid pix deluxe 3. (And this is a copy we bought at Best buy) (Just a reminder) Then he tries on our old computer on the 3rd floor and Still doesn't work. So he knew it was the disk. And it has only 1 scratch and it STILL doesn't work.
She said, Yes, she did. Is that UPS, USPS, FedEx. And he says its different, but its still easy to use like Deluxe 3. SO if it doesn't work on the mac side, we will use our windows side. Worked fine like before. So we went over and got it.
So hopefully this copy will work. HOPEFULLY THIS WILL WORK.
My son starts to use this software and it is very easy to use for him. He love playing with this. Really great and cool program for kids.
